I have studied and worked in the therapeutic field for the past twelve years. Before relocating to France I worked for one of the leading mental health providers in the UK. During my time with the organisation I was based at a hospital providing therapy to both inpatients and outpatients, in group and one-to-one settings. I have worked extensively with patients struggling with depression, eating disorders and a range of anxiety disorders; including obsessive compulsive disorder, social anxiety and work-related stress.
The therapy model I specialise in is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Research has shown CBT to be effective in helping people with a range of issues.
As a practitioner it is vital to keep expanding my knowledge and understanding. I do so by attending continuing professional development events. I also undertake monthly supervision with an appropriately qualified and experienced therapist.
I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am also a member of the Association Française de Thérapie Comportementale et Cognitive (AFTCC).
